The Doctors at Meridian Chiropractic & Wellness, PC treat patients with spine related conditions related to bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons.
Chiropractic Care is a holistic and drug-free treatment option for a multitude of spine related conditions. Chiropractic is not the treatment of any specific condition. The purpose of chiropractic is to find and reduce stress and interference to the nervous system, allowing the person to experience greater function, decreased pain, and an overall improved quality of life.
The following are some of conditions we offer treatment for at Meridian Chiropractic & Wellness, PC:
Chiropractic Care during Pregnancy is a gentle, safe, effective and drug-free treatment option.
During pregnancy a woman’s body goes through dramatic change as it accommodates for her growing baby. As her center of gravity changes, so do the stresses to the spine. Chiropractic care can help the woman’s body adapt to these changes and reduce the stress to her spine and pelvis, making pregnancy a much more comfortable experience for both mom and baby. Chiropractic has been shown to be safe and beneficial for both mom and baby.
Potential benefits for pregnant women receiving chiropractic care
include relief of the following symptoms:
• Sciatica, low back and pelvic pain
• Neck pain and headaches
• Piriformis syndrome
• Mid-back and rib pain
• Hip, knee and ankle pain
• Numbness and tingling in the hands and feet
Most importantly, women under chiropractic care during pregnancy reported:
• Reduced time in labor and delivery
• Fewer interventions during labor
• Reduced need for analgesics during delivery by 50%
The Webster Technique is a specific method of evaluation and adjustment used by Doctors of Chiropractic certified to achieve optimal alignment and balance of the pelvis and its surrounding muscles and ligaments. Tension or misalignment of these muscles and ligaments during pregnancy can cause torsion on the uterus, preventing the baby from assuming the most optimal position for birth. A balanced pelvis, free of interference means any torsion on the uterus has been removed allowing the baby to assume the best position possible for birth.
The Webster technique is safe, gentle and effective. In 2002, the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics published an article reporting an 82% success rate of babies assuming vertex (“head down”) position when chiropractors utilized the Webster Technique to re-align the pelvis.

Chiropractic care for infants, toddlers, school aged children and teens is one of the safest forms of children’s health care available. Chiropractic adjustments for kids are performed differently than in adults, ranging from light vibratory pressure to the amount of pressure necessary to push a key on your keyboard.
Nerve interference due to spinal misalignment can begin as early as the birth process. Other sources of spinal stress and nerve interference in infants include diaper changing, feeding, and carrying positions. For toddlers, the process of learning to walk and explore is usually accompanied by many bumps and falls, which can easily cause restriction of movement in the spine. Tumbles off swings and bikes and head bumps on the playing field are all common in active, growing children and may cause stress to a growing spine and nervous system. By applying specific chiropractic adjustments to misaligned spinal segments, children under chiropractic care have experienced great improvements in symptoms associated with breastfeeding difficulties, colic, ear infections, allergies, asthma, bed wetting, headaches, diminished immune function, sleeping trouble, and many more.
